We have once again raised the bar as far as diversity of profiles is concerned. Companies from across 15 different sectors that include consulting, banking, real estate and knowledge services offered a diverse mix of profiles that included strategic consulting associate, business analyst, equity and other research oriented positions.
EY India and The Smart Cube were amongst our largest recruiters with 19 and 14 offers respectively, whereas Bain & Co. and Reckitt Benckiser offered the highest packages.
The sheer brilliance SSCBS relishes in its work culture, academics, co-curricular activities and competitive environment was once again best showcased through this year’s vibrant placement season.
A total of 155 offers were made from 32 companies, which called for another record-breaker.

CBS has once again raised the bar as far as diversity of profiles is concerned. Companies from across 15 different sectors that include consulting, banking, real estate and knowledge services offered a diverse mix of profiles that included strategic consulting associate, business analyst, equity and other research oriented positions.
KPMG and The Smart Cube were amongst our largest recruiters with 13 and 16 offers respectively, whereas Bain & Co. and The Meltwater Group offered the highest packages.
It was yet another fulfilling year for the Career Development Centre. All the efforts of the CDC team in the form of corporate presentations, alumni calling etc proved fruitful with 24 companies on campus resulting in an incredible 106 job offers made to the students.
The highest package stood at Rs.10.8 lacs offered by Futures First followed by Bain Capability Centre with a package of Rs.9.6 lacs per annum which were one of the highest packages offered to students in the University of Delhi. Ernst and Young and The Smart Cube recruited the maximum number of students. The average package of the year stood at Rs 5.5.lacs per annum.
The CDC team with its newer enthusiasm and efforts is in full swing with its placement process of 2012, with a total of 105 students already placed and a lot more to come.
CDC also endeavored to get the best companies on board for internships for the first and second year students. CDC through its continuous and rigorous efforts will prove to keep placements as the USP of the college.
This year, apart from the regular recruiters, there were new companies coming to CBS, for the first time namely, Ernst and Young, Axis Risk Consulting, Deloitte and Evalueserve. The placements spanned over 5 months with 19 recruiters from 12 different sectors taking part in the placement process and offering 10 different profiles to the students.
Even though recession affected the placements of various colleges and universities this year, CBS managed to tide over the worst and received 80 offers for its 120 students till now. The placement season is still ongoing.
4 students were offered a package in excess of 10 lakhs while another 2 received a package in excess of 7.5 lakhs. The average package stands at 5.6 lakhs p.a.
Evalueserve and Ernst and Young were among our largest recruiters with about 13 offers each, while Bain & Co. and Futures First offered the highest packages.

Jaypee Capital Services and UBS were amongst our largest recruiters with about 20 offers each, while Futures First and Bain & Co.offered the highest packages.

CBS follows a three tier selection process involving a competitive examination followed by a round of group discussions and interviews. For the final selection of a candidate due weightage is allotted to the different criteria as follows:-

Industry interactions that promote dialogue between students and industry leaders are a part of CBS culture. In addition to frequent guest lecturers that impart industry knowledge to students, the annual corporate seminar- ‘Convergence’- provides an interface between corporate stalwarts and our students and bridges the important gap between management theory and practice.

Conducted at a fairly large scale, our events are supported by a number of corporates who sponsor our events due to the visibility it provides them. The annual college festival Crescendo is an example of one such event.
Under the BBS and BFIA programs, the students undertake 6-8 week long internships after Semesters II and IV. The internships widen the students’ perspective by providing an exposure to real organizational and environmental situations.
Besides full time summer internships, our students also work for companies on specific project-based jobs. This helps students assess their own capabilities on the basis of their performance.
To supplement classroom teaching, we invite experts to hold seminars and workshops or conduct sessions on subjects of their expertise. Such interactions give prospective recruiters a clearer understanding of the profile of the batch.
The pedagogy is determined by the faculty which is a mixture of case studies, lectures and role plays making learning interactive, practical and intense .
The meeting of minds, ideas and theories takes place in societies and teams where presentations ignite minds, briefs become springboards for path breaking strategy and teams come up with creative ideas. Highly active societies in college help polish the team skills and attitudes of our students.
Good placements are a natural consequence of the rigorous training and exposure CBS gives to its students.
This was the first time that we recruited CBS students for Practice Research Group at McKC, and our experience was very good. Most of the students had strong fundamentals and very good business awareness. We hope to continue our association with CBS in times to come.
