We, at Synergy, aim at doing just that-helping students realize their potential, honing their skills and polishing their personalities to prepare for corporate challenges that lie ahead. Synergy, as a society aims at organising events that help us facilitate college students with the skills they will need at their workplaces and in life, in general. Through the various events we conduct, we would not only help prepare college students with the kind of tools they're going to need to get into the industry, but also give them hands-on experience so that they are able to adjust to their jobs easily and show instant results but most importantly-put to practice the curriculum they learn across their 3 years in college. The focus of these events, which may be in the form of summits, workshops, etc. is to have interactive and demonstrative sessions with the help of industry experts touching upon pertinent issues like-leadership, communication, delegation, as well as corporate culture and values; so that the gap between college and office life is bridged. This is the first time in the history of CBS that such extortionate work has been envisioned and achieved! Events Conducted The Summit of Olympus: The Summit of Olympus was a three day leadership building workshop based summit. Seven sessions were conducted covering all aspects of leadership encompassing communication, conflict resolution, nurturing individuals, influencing people, motivating employees, leading and managing people and building an effective team. The Summit of Olympus broke away from the conventional and hackneyed format of lecturing aiming to make sessions more interactive and participative. The objective of this summit was to give hands-on understanding of classroom learning. The Summit was presented by The Office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare, The Career and Counselling Cell, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies & Central Placement Cell of the University of Delhi. D' Apprentice: An adaptation of the successful television show, The Apprentice, this event brought together some of the brightest young minds in the city pursuing an undergraduate degree in various colleges and pitted them against one another in challenging, competitive business and entrepreneurial scenarios where their leadership, organisational, execution and general management acumen was put to test and went through enhancement and evolution. Selected after an extensive procedure involving application form evaluation, group discussions, personal interviews and activity-based evaluation, the final 90 participants were put through tests of teamwork, creativity, people-skills, financial aptitude, marketing skills and the ability to manage and run a successful venture. D' Apprentice focused on testing the mettle of students by getting them out of their comfort zone and giving them the necessary confidence to handle real life situations by giving them a chance to put their knowledge to use and gain first hand experience and wisdom all of which increases the employability of students. The participants were finally offered dream internships with some of the finest companies of the corporate world. |
