The official sports cell of the college organizes and foresees all the activities and events relating to sports in the college and makes sure that competitive sporting activity, along with mainstream academics form an integral part of the CBSite’s life here, thus aiming for his full holistic and balanced development along with nurturing his sporting talent.

Until the year 2007, sports was not even considered a part of the CBS curriculum and the society itself was very inactive, let’s say non-existent but during the last two years the society has been revamped completely with more professionalism infused, sterner objectives laid down, greater accountability and a complete reorganization of the hierarchy and structure of the society and today the result is for everyone to see as now its one of the most popular and respected societies of CBS.

CBS Cricket League

Conducted usually around December this time around this event promises to be more thrilling and we at parishram will work it out to ensure that the event lives upto its high expectations.

Unarguably, and I repeat the word ‘Unarguably’, the most awaited and the most popular event of this academic year was CCL 2.0 (CBS Cricket League 2.0).  After being a stupendous success in its first edition, hopes were sky high from the second avtar of CCL. And it did deliver on the expectations of the CBSites! And exceeded it!!!!!

108 players spread across 18 different teams cutting across all the courses and years and (uniting the whole of the college together like never before) participated in the event which kicked off on 8th Dec 2008 & ended on 22nd Jan 2009. Parishram, the Sports Cell of the college, made the tournament interesting and dramatic by adding a couple of innovative ideas :

• High fives format rather than the knockout semi finals.

• Wild Card entry was allowed to one of the 4 teams who lost their quarter final games. A bowlout was held to decide the 5th team for the High fives

Also, the concept of Best of the 3 finals was introduced to make the event more interesting but A1 Champs made sure the 3rd final was not required!

The quality of cricket on display was of the verbal duels and physical fights and the ‘highest degree with brilliant individual and group performances coming up throughout the competition right till the last of the finals.

For a tournament introduced just last year it has literally changed the equations in CBS in just 2 years and by the looks of it the fire ignited is not going to go away anytime soon!!!

CBS Bundesliga

This year we kicked off our campaign with the highly praised , popular and successful soccer league- a first ever at CBS with the CBS Bundesliga-the football league which saw  10 teams participating with  90 players including 3 girls' in it thus showing  an increased desire for more sports in the college.

Adrenalin- The sports fest of the CBS

One of the most anticipated events in the calendar adrenalin- the sports meet has grown exponentially in proportion compared to last few years and this time around too the trend will be maintained in staging a mega sports event.

Those who aspire to be the next Ratan Tata or the next Bill Gates suddenly find their inspiration in Tendulkar, Beckham or Michael Jordon.

With the Wall Street brains and marketing czars of our college fighting it out in over 10 sports and 16 events adrenalin this time around is going to be a real blockbuster.

Conducted usually in March the event was a super success last year with the interest and participation levels at an all time high. This time too keeping with the trend the event promises to be more fun, more intense with more events and sports coming up. So watch this space for more developments on this.

This year carrying forward the momentum we at team PARISHRAM have a plethora of sporting events lined up to ensure that sports get its rightful place in the minds of every student here. Part of the plans includes forming a college football team to participate in the BITS Pilani festival, DU soccer tournaments and various other fests.
