Illuminati are CBS’s quizzing society. The society draws its name from a movement started by Adam Weishaupt in 18th century. The name stands for a society of the illuminated or the intelligentsia. That is what we are all about.

Now a bit about what we do. We quiz. Quiz is not guesswork; it is much more than that. We at Illuminati take pride in doing well in quizzes because we are able to infer things better and not because we think we know more. A quiz is not a test of your memory, but your ability to infer. Quizzing is not about spending sleepless nights memorizing information. Rather good quizzing is about connecting unconnected things, and inferring the answer by trusting instincts; and all of that within a tight deadline. It is also about complementing your team mate and synchronizing your thought process to arrive at an answer. The biggest high in quizzing is winning a hard fought quiz and receiving a well deserved applause for the same.The society actively participates in Delhi’s General, Business and Corporate Quizzing circles and at the same time organizes quizzes within the college on a variety of subjects ranging from Sports, Cricket, General, Business, Brands and Marketing, and a Quizzing League covering the length of the academic year, all of it with a unified aim of cultivating a culture of quizzing.

Now a bit about what we have achieved. The society has won more competitions representing the college than all other societies put together. There’s hardly an Institute in Delhi where quizzers from Illuminati haven’t done well – From colleges in DU like NSIT, DCE, St. Stephens, Hindu, KMC, Hansraj, Ramjas, Venketeshwara, LSR etc. to premier MBA institutes like MDI, FMS(North), FMS(South) etc. However, the crown jewels for the society are the victories at AIMA National Business Quiz which was won beating the best quizzing teams from all over India and the Zonal Finals of SAIL Golden Jubilee Business and Management Quiz which was won beating teams from IIM A, FMS, IMT Ghaziabad etc. Most of these achievements have been in the sphere of Business and Corporate Quizzing, however, the society has over the years seen a number of brilliant general quizzers as well.

Recognition and a sense of accomplishment are not the only incentives. There are accompaniments which include significant amounts of cash and a lot of goodies, thereby enabling a member to self-finance the many excursions that the quintessential quizzer loves to have.
