College of Business Studies gives you a chance to be a part of Creating Break-through Stage, the dramatics society of the college. Established in the year 1995, it has consistently been among the most active societies in college, performing at several events in and outside Delhi

The society of 2008-2009 was a judicious mix of creative, imaginative expressive and enthusiastic members from all the three years with a majority from the first year. A majority of the First Year students had experience of theatre.

With an enthusiastic lot of fresher actors, writers and directors injecting a renewed sense of vigor into the society, its efforts and their rewards have only magnified. Thus it came as no surprise when the society’s current production, “Kal College Band Rahega”, which raises questions on the meaning of teacher, the shameless exploitation of the innocent and the value systems governing our education system today, registered an instant connect with audiences everywhere. The consummate skill and passion of the cast and the unfailing support of the production crew ensured that this endeavor was an immense success.

The dramatics society of S.S.C.B.S – Creating Breakthrough Stage aims at allowing budding managers an opportunity to recognize their talents in the field of theatre, while also providing a platform to them to hone these into alternative careers. The society tries to instill in its members not only the art of acting but also confidence, communication skills, effective speaking through voice modulation, expressiveness and the ability to function as a team – all vital characteristics of a good manager. We at Creating Breakthrough Stage perform at several venues all over the country, thus giving its members the true feeling of being part of a performance in their own capacities as well as, being part of a close knit team.

The society had a workshop for over 2 weeks under Mr. Ravi Taneja and Mr. Madan Dogra to understand the nuances of acting and theatre which greatly helped the new lot in not only understanding theatre and the stage but also helped us in the preparation of a play.

The society has had five performances over the last few months, which include:

• One Act Play competition at Dyal Singh College- 2nd Position

• One Act Play competition at Ramjas College

• One Act Play competition at IIT Kanpur

• One Act Play competition at IIT- Mumbai

• One Act Play Competition at Rangmanch – 09’, SSCBS
