Allotment of Seats

This year 163 students will enroll themselves for BBS while 54 will enroll for the BFIA program. The selection criteria comprises of an eliminative objective written test (common for BBS & BFIA programs), an interview, a group discussion and performance in class XII.

Note:

  1. 5% of the total seats will be offered to the foreign students.
  2. 5% of the total seats will be offered to CW (Children/Widow/Wives of the offi cers and men of the armed forces, including paramilitary personnel, killed/died/disabled in action or in duty) category.
  3. 3% seats are reserved for Physically Challenged (PC) candidates.
    1, 2 and 3 are supernumerary.
  4. The seat matrix may be revised every year as per the directive of the University of Delhi regarding reservation.
Eligibility Requirements
  • The candidate should have passed or have appeared in March/April 2009 in Senior Secondary School Examination of CBSE or any other examination considered equivalent by the University of Delhi.
  • (a) The candidate should secure an aggregate of atleast 60% marks (55% for SC, ST, CW and PC categories) in four papers including English for BBS applicants.

    The candidate should secure an aggregate of atleast 60% marks (55% for SC, ST, CW and PC categories) in four papers including English & Mathematics for BFIA applicants.

    The other papers are to be from the following list:

    Accountancy, Biology, Biotechnology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Geography, History, Informatics Practices, Introductory Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Secretarial Practices, Social Science, Sociology, Word Processing.
  • The candidate must produce the confi rmed result and marksheet of the qualifying examination on the day of the Group Discussion and Personal Interview to be eligible for the process of admission. Candidates who do not have the confi rmed marksheet will not be entertained under any circumstances.
  • Compartment cases of current year will not be considered for admission.
  • Foreign nationals seeking admission to BBS/BFIA program against the prescribed quota of seats earmarked to them, shall have to apply through the Foreign Students Advisor, C/o Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi – 110 007 and are exempted from the Written Examination, Group Discussion and Interview.
  • Those foreign students who have acquired their minimum qualifi cation for admission from any Indian Board, in India have to apply to the college (Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies) directly as General category candidate. They have to appear for the entrance test like general category candidates and follow the same selection process as applicable to general category and in addition fill up the foreign student application form of FSR offi ce (downloadable from: http://www.du.ac.in/forms/foreignstudents1.pdf). All admission of foreign students are channeled through the Foreign Students Registry (FSR) offi ce of University of Delhi.
Obtaining Application Form
  • The Application Form, along with the Information Bulletin (available from April 15, 2009 to May 2, 2009) can be purchased through a bank draft payable at Delhi from the designated branches of Canara Bank (Refer to advertisement of Faculty of Applied Social Sciences & Humanities, University of Delhi, South Campus) as per the amounts mentioned in the following table

  • Bank draft should be drawn in favour of Principal, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business
    Studies
    , payable at Delhi.
  • The amount payable includes the price of Application Form, Information Bulletin and Entrance  Examination Fee. Total charges are payable at the time of obtaining the Application Form. The amount, once paid is non-refundable.
  • All applicants are required to retain a photocopy of the bank draft and write his/her full name, category, postal address, phone number(s), course(s) applied for application form number & test centre opted at the back of the photocopy of bank draft to be sent along with the fi lled up OMR application form.
  • Only outstation applicants can obtain Application Form by post by sending a self-addressed A4 size envelope, affi xed with Rs. 60/- postal stamps, along with a crossed bank draft for application fee amount as mentioned above from Admission Coordinator, S.S. College of Business Studies, Vivek Vihar, Phase II, Delhi 110095. The draft should be drawn in favour of ‘Principal, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Delhi’ payable at Delhi. Applicant must write her/his full name, category, postal address, phone number, course(s) applied for, and test centre opted, at the back of the bank draft and submit along with a photocopy of both sides of the bank draft. FASSH/College shall not be responsible for postal delay/loss, if any.
  • The Application Form is Non-Transferable.
  • The information provided by the candidate in the Application Form must be authentic and cannot be amended at a later stage.
  • All applicants who wish to seek admission under the Physically Challenged category are required to fi ll the OMR application form in duplicate (Original + one photocopy). Candidates requiring a ‘Writer’ for the written examination must obtain clearance from the offi ce of the Dean, Student Welfare (DSW), University of Delhi. The applicants must then deposit the DSW certifi cate, along with a fee of Rs.500 to the S.S.C.B.S. offi ce, latest by May 18, 2009.
  • Application processing fee @ U.S. $ 200 (or its equivalent) shall be charged from all foreign
    applicants except the applicants from SAARC Countries who will be charged Rs. 500 per
    program.
Submitting The Form

The Application Form, complete in all respect should reach the college (Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies) offi ce latest by May 2, 2009. The FASSH/College will not be responsible for any postal delays. A photocopy of the bank draft with her/his full name, category, postal address, phone number(s), course(s) applied for, application form number & test centre opted for written at the back of the photocopy should be sent along with the application form.

Please do not staple the photocopy of the bank draft and the acknowledgement card with the OMR application form.

Important Notes:

  • The FASSH/college does not take any responsibility for postal delays/losses and website failure.
  • Admission confirmed based on incorrect information will be cancelled without refund of fees at any stage.
  • Admission to the college is provisional and is subject to fi nal approval of the University of Delhi.
  • All efforts will be made to ensure that no seats remain vacant. However, under no circumstances a candidate shall be admitted to the programs later than  July 30, 2009.
  • If any FASSH/college offi cial is approached for favour of application of any candidate during any stage of the admission process, his/her application will be cancelled.
The Entrance Test

The written examination will be held at Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Kolkata on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 10:00 am (reporting time 9:30am). No entry to the Examination venue will be allowed after the commencement of the examination at 10 am.

The examination will be of two hours duration, and will test Business Aptitude, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and Analytical Ability, and Verbal Profi ciency in the English language.

Examination Centres And Venues

List of applicants with name, form number, roll number and centre allotted will be posted on the Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies website (www.sscbsdu.ac.in) and displayed on the college notice board on May 12, 2009, 5p.m.

Examination Centres are as follows:

  • Delhi: Departments/Colleges of University of Delhi
  • Chandigarh: D.A.V. College, Sector-10, Chandigarh - 160 010
  • Kolkata: St. Xavier’s College, 30, Park Street, Kolkata - 700 016
  • Lucknow: Christian Degree College, Golagunj, Lucknow - 226 018
Test Admit Card

The test admit card will be mailed to you beginning May 12, 2009. The test admit card will indicate your Examination Roll Number and the address of the Test-Venue.

You should contact Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies quoting your Test Centre chosen and the application form number, only if you do not receive the Admit card by May 30, 2009.

Venue enquiry on telephone will not be entertained.

Any request for change of examination centre / venue will not be entertained. If the candidate reports to a venue other than the one allotted to her/his, she/he will not be allowed to take the examination. The FASSH reserves the right to drop / change any centre / venue without assigning any reason. However, candidates will be notifi ed of such changes on the S.S.C.B.S. website.

The FASSH/College will not be responsible for any postal delay.

Candidates are required to carry the admit card to the test centres. No candidates will be allowed entry to the test centre without the admit card.

Result of Entrance Test
The list of successful candidates in the written test, along with the schedule for the Group Discussion and Interview, will be displayed on June 17, 2009, 5 p.m. on the S.S.C.B.S college notice board and on the S.S.C.B.S college website.
Group Discussion And Personal Interview

Based on the performance in the written examination, shortlisted candidates (approximately four times the number of seats for the respective categories) shall appear for Group Discussion and Interview scheduled from June 19, 2009. The group discussion & interview will be held at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies. The shortlisted candidates must appear in the group discussion as well as the interview to be eligible for admission.

On the day of the interview the candidates must submit the confi rmed result of the qualifying exam and proof of other eligibility requirements, failing which the candidate will lose claim to admission.

Final Selection for all categories will be made on the following basis:

Written Exam – 50% XII Result – 30% Interview – 10% Group Discussion – 10%
Final Result And Admission Schedule

The list of candidates fi nally selected for admission to the BBS and BFIA programs, along with the waiting list (in order of merit) will be displayed on the S.S.C.B.S College notice board and on the S.S.C.B.S college website on July 5, 2009, 5p.m. In order to confirm admission, selected candidates must deposit the fees between July 6, 2009 to July 8, 2009 at respective colleges. Please note that the last date for confi rmation of admission is 1.00 p.m. on July 8, 2009.

Counseling for Waitlisted Candidates:

Candidates desiring to exercise a choice of upgradation to a course or college of their choice must have taken the admission in the course or college offered to them in the fi rst instance. Such students are also advised to be present for the subsequent counseling sessions as per the information displayed on the website of the college.

Waitlisted candidates must report for counseling on July 10, 2009 by 11.00 a.m. at the S.S.C.B.S. College premises. Subject to availability of seats, the candidates will be offered admission purely on the basis of merit. Candidates short-listed for admission must deposit the fees on the same day and required certifi cates within 2 working days, failing which he/she shall lose his/her claim on admission. Waitlisted candidates who do not report for the counseling session will lose the claim to admission.

Requirements At The Time Of Final Admission

Candidates are required to deposit the following to the respective College offi ce when they take admission to the BBS / BFIA program:

  • Fees payable in cash.
  • Two passport size photographs
  • Character Certifi cate by the head of the institution last attended.
  • All original certificates –
    i.   Class X Certifi cate as evidence of Date of Birth
    ii.  Marks Statement of Class XII
    iii. Category Certifi cate (for Reserved Categories) along with one attested photocopy of each of the above documents.

Withdrawal of the original certifi cates before September 30, 2009 is not allowed.

Fee Structure

Total amount of course fee payable at the time of admission is:

  • Rs. 4,930/- for BBS
  • Rs. 10,430/- for BFIA
  • Rs. 20,130/- for B.Sc. (H) Computer Science
  • Rs. 15,236/- for PGDCA

Please Note:

  • Cash will be the only mode of payment.
  • Students should claim refund of the college security deposit within three years of leaving the college.
  • Alumni lifetime membership fee of Rs. 200 is to be paid on successful completion of the course.
  • No refund, except the security deposit, will be made on withdrawl of admission (for BBS and BFIA).
  • Refund of fee on withdrawl of admission is as per the University of Delhi rules (for B.Sc. (H) Computer Science).
  • Scholarships are available for eligible SC / ST students as per directives to be issued by the Government of NCT of Delhi from time to time.
